Aftercare
-
If plastic wrap was used, remove it after 2 hours.
-
If 'second-skin' (adhesive plastic wrap) was used, remove it after 3-5 days OR earlier if it starts to leak (this means the barrier is broken)
-
Once your plastic wrap is removed. Rinse any build up residue on your tattoo with warm water and gently clean it with antibacterial soap. Pat it dry with paper towels or a clean towel. After a couple days it starts to get dry and 'flake-y' which means you should moisturise it. For this I recommend Bepanthen tattoo creme or coconut oil. Every body is different and requires a different amount of moisturising, in general I recommend moisturising whenever you feel like it's too dry or if the skin starts to pull.

-
With second-skin your tattoo is protected and you don't have to look after it while it's still covered. Yes you can still shower!
-
Please don't go swimming or tanning within 4-6 weeks.
-
Try to avoid intense workouts for the first week

Important notes
-
It is normal for the tattoo to leak afterwards, especially with regular plastic wrap. Try to avoid sleeping in your nicest bedsheets the first night as it can still leak plasma, ink and blood afterwards.
-
Do not scratch your tattoo, yes that means even if it gets itchy. I know it's difficult, but you got this!
-
There is a possibility you might be allergic to the adhesive from the plastic wrap, in this case you will notice redness around the edge of the plastic wrap itself and not just the tattoo. Take it off immediately and keep it clean.

Seek medical attention if necessary!
